Books
Environmental benefits: Books can't usually be recycled because of the glue that’s used to bind them, but there are many possibilities for reusing, donating or reselling books.
How to recycle: green metropolis is an internet bookstore designed specifically to promote recycling of paperbacks. The site encourages people to buy second hand books instead of new and once they’ve read them, to sell them back so that someone else may read them. Plus, for every book sold, green metropolis donates 5p to the’ tree for all’ campaign run by the Woodland trust, which plants new trees.
Alternatively, most charity shops and libraries will accept second hand books if in good condition.
