On the eve of Green Britain Day, representatives from all the main political parties and Olympic gold medallist Victoria Pendleton took part in the annual All Party Parliamentary Bike Ride. MPs and peers cycled three miles around central London to promote cycling as a mode of transport which can help people to keep fit and save money whilst reducing their carbon footprint.
Then on 17th June, Green Britain Day kicked off a summer of events aimed at encouraging greener, healthier, cheaper and more local living, with 16 locations across the UK being treated to the Team Green Britain experience.
Rollapoluza cycle challenges, local and seasonal food stands, bike clinics and energy saving games highlighted the three areas where we can all make the biggest difference to our personal carbon footprint - food, travel and home.
And this was just the start of a summer to remember, with Team Green Britain Bike Week and The Big Lunch coming soon...
