Look who’s behind us
Behind Team Green Britain is another team – our supporters.
They are equally inspired by the realisation that, working together, with our eyes on London 2012, we could all start to win the fight against climate change. And they want to help us do it.

EDF Energy
EDF Energy produces and supplies the power which is the lifeblood of the communities we serve. As we now know, electricity generation in itself can create significant emissions of CO2, one of the main contributors to climate change. That’s why we’re determined to do what we can to minimise our impact on the environment and contribute to a more sustainable world.
As part of EDF Group, Europe’s largest, lowest carbon, energy producer, EDF Energy is now the largest producer of low carbon electricity in the UK. We plan to invest billions of pounds over the coming years in new, low-carbon plants to power British homes.
We also recognise that there is another side to the solution - educating and encouraging people to reduce the energy they use and lessen their impact on the environment. That’s why EDF Energy is a sustainability partner of London 2012 and why we’re giving our whole-hearted support to Team Green Britain.

Eden Project
The Eden Project is an educational charity, social enterprise, visitor destination and leading environmental brand. Its mission is to not only promote our dependence on the natural world, but to demonstrate aspects of behaviour and thinking that encourage the adaptation required for sustainable living. The first manifestation of the idea involved the creation of the largest conservatories in the world, carved out of a scared landscape in Cornwall, and in itself a symbol of regeneration and a demonstration of what people can do working together.
Eden's view is that environmental and social change go hand in hand, and that fostering a spirit of collaboration and building more resilient communities is the only way to achieve real positive change. Team Green Britain encompasses these beliefs that collective action is crucial in combating the challenges of the 21st Century.

London 2012
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) is responsible for preparing and staging the 2012 Games. Led by Sebastian Coe (Chair) and Paul Deighton (Chief Executive), LOCOG’s aim is to stage a memorable Games in 2012.
We will deliver the best possible Games experience for everyone involved, ensuring a real legacy and inspiring people to join in. As well as staging the 2012 Games, LOCOG will also be responsible for staging a series of test events in the run up to 2012; recruiting and training volunteers; and overseeing the four year Cultural Olympiad leading up to the Games.
We want London 2012 to be the first 'sustainable' Games, setting new standards for major events. Being 'sustainable' means providing for peoples' current and long-term needs, improving quality of life while ensuring a healthy and thriving natural environment. As the most high-profile event in the world, the Games give us the chance to show how changes to the way we build, live, work, do business and travel could help us to live happy and healthy lives, within our planet’s resources.

Global Action Plan
Global Action Plan is an independent environmental charity, delivering environmental, social and financial improvements by working with people from all sections of society. In homes, the workplace, schools and the wider community, we help to make the small changes that have a big impact.
Our EcoTeams help people explore ways to reduce their environmental impacts through a programme of action to generate permanent, positive changes in behaviour.
Global Action Plan is proud to be part of Team Green Britain. And thanks to the increased awareness it brings, within two years, EcoTeams expects to save 10,351 tonnes of CO2, divert 1,950 tonnes of waste from landfill, and save households £3 million.
