On May 18th, the country will come together once again to celebrate living more sustainably. Click on the link below to find out more about this year's Green Britain Day

Green Britain Day take place this year on Wednesday, 18 May and is the perfect opportunity to celebrate a greener future - starting today! Whether you're interested in travel, food or saving power, there are many ways to shrink your carbon footprint this year.

Nowhere will the day be more celebrated than in the country's schools, where Green Britain Day is now a regular fixture in the school calendar. Our sustainable schools resource, the Pod, has been helping to organise projects large and small for this year's event.

Pupils at Langmoor Primary school have been busily collecting large plastic drinks bottles to build a plastic greenhouse - that's alongside a large vegetable planting project. At St Thomas' Prep School, pupils and their families will be walking or cycling to school as part of a car-free day. Meanwhile, numerous figures from the renewable energy industry have been invited to talk with pupils, staff and parents at Hornsea School's Green Britain Day conference.

So what will your school or community be doing on the 18th May? Be inspired by the thousands of schools who will be tree-planting, cycling, gardening and more and do something green for the team!
