EDF Energy is the founder of Team Green Britain, the UK’s largest producer of low-carbon electricity, and the Official Electricity Supplier to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Delivering a low-carbon Britain
EDF Energy is the UK's largest producer of low-carbon
electricity, but our ambitions for helping you to cut
CO2 emissions don't stop there.
In the home, we are rolling out smart meters that can help to
cut energy use in the home. On the road, we are working with
businesses, car manufacturers and dealerships to roll out a
charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, which could help to
transform travel in the UK.
New ways of doing things at home and in schools
We are rolling out smart meters to thousands of homes across
Britain in our ongoing trial of a technology that can help to cut
home energy use. Team Green Britain Ambassador Victoria Pendleton
put our Smart Meters to the test.
In schools, our Pod programme helps teachers engage children
with sustainability - and encourages pupils to take the energy
efficiency message home. There are already over 4 million pupils
learning about sustainability in Pod schools.
Promoting a low carbon future
There is more to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games than athletic prowess. The Games show us what people are capable of – and as the Official Electricity Supplier, we can show what the future of energy could look like.
The EDF Energy London Eye: it’s one of the most striking sights on the capital’s skyline, an icon of innovative design and (thanks to EDF Energy’s support), low-carbon energy.
