EDF Energy has been working with the British Paralympic
Association since March 2010 in a partnership aimed at making
Paralympics GB a greener team ahead of the Games. In particular, we
have teamed up with sustainability consultant and professional long
distance triathlete Toby Radcliffe, to help the team's pre-Games
training camps set new standards for sustainability.
In 2011, the Paralympics GB squad's training camp became the
first in the world to have its environmental impact mapped by the
Council for Responsible Sport, as part of a new accreditation
scheme for sporting events. The camp was awarded Silver
accreditation and our goal now is to land Gold fro the final
training camp that the squad holds in August, just prior to the
opening of the Paralympic Games.
